I swear to God this is real. Based on the short story by H. P. Lovecraft, Call of Cthulhu is an independent production by the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society, who set out to make a faithful adaptation of Lovecraft's story, in the style of a 1920s silent film.
The score is haunting, yet beautiful, the visuals are top notch (for a 1920s recreation, of course), and the horror scenes are, dare I say it, Lovecraftian.
It's definitely worth checking out, if your into that sort of thing.

Sucker Punch
I'm sorry I haven't been posting anything in the past month, I haven't seen anything worth talking about until now.
Remember Watchmen? Remember Legend of the Guardians? Well, apparently the director can make a good movie that isn't an adaptation.
A group of girls are trying to escape from an asylum. We're seeing this story from the perspective of the main characters' imagination. That's basically it.
While the trailers have sold this movie as the epitome of the male nerd action movie, it is far from it. While the characters imagine the asylum as a brothel, the action scenes are, essentially, their imaginations within their imagination.
It's a really special movie. It needs to be seen.
