Glee: The 3D Concert

I hate to beg, but could someone at least comment on these things. It let's me know that someone is reading them.

Anyway, I was bored one day, so I decided to go see the Glee movie just 'cause, even though it has been months since my last encounter with the show and I don't really hold the show in very high esteem (I hated it). My problem with the show was that, while the covers were pretty good, the storylines were stupid and the characters were tools. Why the hell would you want to keep a "hysterical pregnancy" secret from your significant other? Why would you want to get famous by making a sex tape, and how did you not know the tape would technically be child porn? SO WHAT if the jocks draw snarky doodles on the Glee Club page of the library's year book? GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!!!!

Anywho, the "movie" is more or less a concert intercut with mini documentaries of specific "Gleeks" and how the show inspired them to be confident in themselves, or something like that. Yeah, it is a bit pretentious, but I've heard stories about a boy who stood up to his abusive dad because watching Rainbow Dash gave him the confidence to do so, so I'm not going to judge.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy myself, even just a little. They sang Raise Your Glass, Teenage Dream, Safety Dance, Don't Rain on My Parade, Somebody to Love and other songs I like. Even Gweneth Paltrow showed up to sing Forget You, which both pleased and pissed me off. The former because Gweneth is an awesome singer and it's a good song, and the latter because it's the shitty censored version.

However, I do have some gripes. Cory Monteith can't sing Jesse's Girl to save his life, he sounds like he's trying WAY TOO HARD to be Rick Springfield. Also, Lea Michele does really well when singing Broadway musical songs, so why the hell is she singing Firework by Katy Perry? I don't know, it just doesn't sit right with me. BTW Lea, good luck in that New Years' Eve movie, let me know what it's like to be in the same movie as Ashton Kutcher, Zac Efron, Robert De Niro, and the dude from Far Cry.

I think the "movie" may have inspired me to go back and watch the show. After all, we all need something to bitch about once in a while, and Michael Bay is probably never going to make another Transformers movie, so I'll take what I can get.
